Hi all,
You're invited to the FIRST Burbank School Garden Planning Meeting on October 12, 4:00-5:30 pm, in the District Office Boardroom. Come contribute to the vision for a robust, sustainable school garden program for Burbank students. If you know of others who may be interested in participating, I hope you'll forward this message and encourage them to attend.
A little background: BUSD put some funding into its LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan), or budget priority document, for strategic planning and curriculum development for school gardens, K-12. Steve Ferguson, one of the newly-elected School Board Members, took the leadership role on this issue. It's an important signal of support for school gardens!
Now it's time to get to work. Some of you received notice of this gathering from Kimberley Clark last week. Her message is included below. If you're not able to attend but would like to be heard, please email or call so I can carry your views to the meeting.
I'd love to know if you can join us on Oct. 12th.
Best regards,
Karen Gibson
